My favourite fifteen

1.     Serve God by serving others.
2.     Maintaining an eternal perspective is key to responding to the challenges we face now.
3.     The Christian life is like a window through which others see Christ.
4.     The key to spiritual strength is to simply rest and abide.
5.     When I am weak in myself, then I am strong in the Lord.
6.     History is in God’s hands, it is never blind fate and God has a purpose for everything.
7.     God doesn’t list any position as greater than another. He just asks me to do my best in whatever job I am given.
8.     Either sin will keep me from God’s Word or God’s Word will keep me from sin.
9.     The things I want may be in God’s plan for me but the Lord wants me to be willing to let them go. If they are not in His plan, I can be sure He has something even better.
10.  God is big. I am small. But, the big God helps small people.
11.  In my own strength, I will stumble; in my own flesh, I will fall; but God strengthens me.
12.  A lying tongue is but for a moment. Truth is the daughter of time and in time it will come out.
13.  Be firm, continue calling upon the name of the Lord. In due time, God will exalt you.
14.  God is too wise to make a mistake.
15.  Worry not about here on earth but about home in heaven.

Answered Prayer

I have just experienced the most tiresome one month ever. I'm in Law School and it tends to be very rough. The past one month has been full of tests, assignments and what is referred to as moot court. Moot court is like a court practical. I have been praying for my moot court since last year. As the hour to the dreaded event came, I kept praying that the Lord will keep me calm and that unlike my usual manner of being so nervous that my voice sounds shaky, that that would not happen today. Through all this the Lord has kept me sane and has seen me through. He heard my prayer over my moot because people told me it was great, if they weren't just being polite and He definitely heard my prayer over my tests and the assignments I have written so far. In short, my prayers were answered.
Some tests were rough, definitely rough but answered prayer doesn't mean that things will always go smoothly. The preparations for the moot also proved to be very tiring and it was not an easy road but in the end it proved to be all worth the work. In short, the road might not be easy for whatever we might be praying for but in the end, God answers our prayer. What we tend to forget is that even a 'No' is answered prayer. But the beauty of prayer is that it gives us an opportunity to speak to the Lord. One of my favourite verses is Hebrews 4:16 that states, "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need." This verse is definitely an encouragement to me to always go before the throne of grace with everything and anything. And God does hear and answer our prayers, whether it be yes, no or wait.
As for me, I thank the Lord for hearing my prayers and answering them. Lets be encouraged to speak to Him about everything.

Why blog?

I've never viewed myself as a very technology forward person but here I am blogging. I was invited to blogger by my boyfriend who has been trying to get me to blog for a very long time. The first time he suggested it, I remember thinking, "what's the fuss?".  Second time, I thought to myself, "why not! It might turn out to be fun." So here I am writing my first post wondering who is ever going to read it anyway. I only hope that I will be able to glorify God through this blog, that I will not spend time wirting stuff that's useless just incase I actually have people reading it. I pray it will turn out to be a fruitful activity and one that im able to go through with all the way without stopping midway. If you've actually reached the end of this post, thanks for taking time to visit my blog. Even though I do not know you, trust me, it means alot.
